Sound was not balanced; lighting terrible

I've long been a fan of Hall and Rundgren. And looked forward to this concert. I'd recently attended a Tedeschi Trucks concert and the venue, Crouse Hinds, was super comfortable and the music was outstanding. Not so, Todd Rundgren and Daryl Hall. The sound from the beginning of Rundgren's set was overwhelmingly bottom heavy or bass sounding. So much so that my stomach vibrated. And the musicians in the band could barely be discerned separately. Rundgren's voice rose above the volume but barely in my opinion. I might have thought it was the venue but the previous band's sound was perfect. I hoped with Daryl's band the sound would improve. And out stepped the same musicians and the same imbalance with the sound resulted. In addition, the lighting design was thoughtless. Why have flashing lights at the rear of the stage behind the performers strobing into the audience's eyes obscuring those who are performing? A spotlight on Hall would have been so effective. Instead, the lights pulsed into our eyes making it hard to look at the stage generally. It struck me as a careless design. I'm sorry to be negative but my guests agreed and they're in their twenties. We left early, I'm afraid.
